The first annual 2026 Rhode Island Senior Games ice hockey tournament was held this past weekend (5/15-5/17) at the Cranston Veterans Memorial Ice Rink in Cranston, RI. This year’s event had four teams in the Men’s 60+ division and ended in a three-way tie for first place that was decided by a one-point goal differential! The Gridiron Hockey Club out of northern RI took home the gold medal, the RI Reds from the Providence, RI area took silver, and the Pacemakers from the Fall River, MA area took bronze. Great competition with some players coming from Calgary and Montreal as well as a few past NHLers. Mark your calendar for next year’s event May 14-16th at which time we hope to have more 60+ teams as well as a 50+ and 70+ division.
